By Mauricio Faria de Oliveira, Canonical
Mauricio describes the bootstrap process of the Debian ppc64el port in its early days, now an official architecture in Debian, explaining the concepts, techniques, and challenges involved, and a bit of history of how that happened.
Mauricio worked in the IBM LTC with Linux on PowerPC Server processors for almost 7 years, contributing to the Linux kernel and many core components of Linux distributions, in areas like performance, storage, and platform support. He has previously spoken about the Linux job market on universities and discusses technology topics with his (bored) work colleagues (when they try hard to listen). He’s now moving to Canonical.
